The islands of Scotland

I am delighted to welcome Lindsay Armstrong to our list of writers. Lindsay’s various jobs have included being an oboist and cor anglais player in the RTÉ Symphony Orchestra here in Ireland, the first general manager of Dublin’s National Concert Hall, and the first director of the Royal Irish Academy of Music. He was Co-Founder and Manager of the New Irish Chamber Orchestra and Artistic Director of the Orchestra of St Cecilia. He is now retired.

Lindsay, who has a wicked sense of humour, has very kindly written a lively travelogue entitled ‘Diary of a visit to Scotland, May 2015’, which you will find at the bottom of the Travelogue section. The account of this sixteen-day tour of various Scottish islands, visited in all weathers, is illustrated with fine photographs taken by Lindsay’s wife Gillian.

Because of the number of photographs in the three separate sections, downloading them may take a little longer than usual.
